I devoutly believe in the start of a crash and a protracted bear market.

But I would not be surprised to see the initial decline today turn around and recover. Too much new money is going into mutual funds.

Of course, we could always have a fund-manager's panic.

If they don't commit the new money, and if they try to raise their cash balances on average from something close to 4% up merely one percentage point, that could cause a large decline.
