Fred,

I disagree with you. I only know of two ethnic groups, in this country, that disparage themselves. The young people refer to their women as "ho's" and one group does use the "n" word as you say. It is pretty stupid to slur yourself (ethnic group) and then after blurring the line, expect other groups to know where that line is!

I don not think anyone should slur themselves or slur others. One starts gaining respect from others, by first respecting him or herself and their respective race.

I was at a concert in Reno, a couple of years ago. The singer, I had gone to see, had a comedian (who happens to be black) as a show opener. He put down whites throughout his routine. He even "bad mouthed" a group of whites coming in late. If a white comedian had behaved as he has, just in reverse, the Rev. J. Jackson would have been on a plane to Reno the next day! (I use to like that singer, not any more!)

A couple of ethnic groups seem to think it is alright (God only knows why it seems to be politically correct) to slur whites. I am a white American of European ancestry. We deserve respect, also.

Regards,
LG
