Paperheart-Are you covering at these levels? It's interesting how you plant seeds to defend your position. Most people on this thread and other threads don't take the time or have the resources to research the information you say in your one paragraph statements. This company is NOT Aura, and will distance itself soon. On Friday, Newcom acquired Simple Technology's aftermarket business for an undisclosed amount of Newcom's stock. Strong Statement. One would think, that Simple's Management team would do their own homework (audits, attorney's, etc.) regarding Newcom's potential. Hopefully this acquisition reduces Aura's ownership to below 50%. So ask yourself, Why are you shorting this stock? Because of Aura's Management, or because of Newcom's Management.
Your Dreyfus and CCSI facts are everything but facts! Michael Schonberg is still employed at Dreyfus, and co-manages the two funds (IMO damage control by Dreyfus until all the facts are evaluated). He personally owned 20,000 shares in a 1995 private placement. All of which was filed under all the necessary laws. Dreyfus defends his actions, and questioned Manual Asensio's motive. Mr. Asensio admitted in a conference call that he shorted nearly 300,000 shares of CCSI. Who stands to gain by making these high profile announcements? Clearly Asensio stands to gain. We'll have to wait and see what the SEC has to say before we place blame. My money is on Dreyfus. All this information was obtained through the Dow Jones News service. If anyone has access, please read the complete articles. All articles highlight each side of the Dreyfus/CCSI/Asensio story. Make your own judgements.
This industry will have to consolidate, and Newcom will hopefully become a bigger and bigger player. So far, you're winning the war, but when the stock was at seventeen, you didn't see me hyping this stock. The delayed earnings was a small set back, but I'm still making money. The IPO was a no brainer ($9.50/Unit - STILL worth $13.50). So continue to short, I know the industry and believe the longs will survive.
As for Quilty, you're insight is always welcomed, and I look forward to your facts regarding your position. I hope you are shorting this stock based on your knowledge, not a brokers recommendation. If so, ask your broker why, and report back.
