Fuchi,
Packard Bell had a rep down at my local CompUSA yesterday selling the MediaGX-233 based unit. Included a GX-233 box, NEC printer and and a 14" monitor for $899. Not only that but they threw in a free TV or VCR. He sold 20 packages by 4 pm. It was interesting to see how people buy computers. The average computer buyer for these units knows nothing, maybe MHz. They seemed to fit one of two profiles: a retired couple looking to get on the internet or a woman with a couple kids.
At Circuit City, there was a Packard Bell M2-266 and a NEC M2-266.
The Salesman seemed to be pushing the Hewlett Packard Celeron system.
I convinced him otherwise.
Jim
