Thanks, I will try to reload a "better" Netscape.
I found this announcement interesting:
INDIANAPOLIS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- General H. Norman Schwarzkopf, the STARBRIGHT Foundation's capital campaign chairman, and Randall L. Tobias, chairman and chief executive officer of Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE: LLY - news), unveiled today a highly anticipated CD-ROM game to educate children with diabetes to better manage their disease. The unveiling was part of the American Diabetes Association's annual meeting at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.
During the unveiling, Schwarzkopf and Tobias participated in a live demonstration of the STARBRIGHT Life Adventure Series: Diabetes CD-ROM, which takes a player through an interactive, educational adventure that models a ''day in the life'' of a child with diabetes. Centered around an animated alien character, ''Xylo,'' narrated by actor/comedian Martin Short, a series of fast- paced exercises, quizzes and arcade-style games provides players with critical information to help them properly manage their diabetes. Also included in the game are a glossary of terms, diabetes information sections, and a section designed especially for parents. The CD-ROM game is narrated in both English and Spanish. The CD-ROM was produced by the STARBRIGHT Foundation with a charitable donation from Eli Lilly and Company and the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation.
Interesting to me since Tobias is ex Bell Labs so it shows what happens when you put an IT guy in charge of a drug company. It also shows the variety of ways that THQI's technology can be brought to bear to improve our world. |
