Lou,

Writedowns are very healthy for the future of a company as long as they are NOT followed by other writedowns! The key here is to NOT have any in the next few qtrs and see continued revenue growth.

Just a side note, one of my friends has emailed Dan Murphy some questions as she is interested in investing here. I thought it would be refreshing to let her do her own DD and then compare notes with me so I did not sway her decision too much. A couple of key questions that were asked and responses:

1) Why didn't DCTC get listed on NASDAQ or AMEX when it applied last year? Response: Question was not answered.

2) Will DCTC proceed with filing for listing this year? Response: Yes, after the audited year end financials come out.

3) Has DCTC been approached by other companies about the possibility of DCTC being acquired by them? Response: Yes.

4) What is DCTC's primary focus as a business entity, to accumulate assets solely for the purpose of being acquired or to continue building DCTC as an independent entity whose focus is on generating revenue from operations? Response: "DCI's focus is to establish itself as a full-service, global telecommunications provider.ÿ In the process of achieving this goal, it is necessary for management to take actions which will maximize shareholder value.ÿ Should an opportunity arise in which selling a part of the company represents a higher net present value than retaining ownership of that business unit (such as the Smartalk deal), then we must take the appropriate
action."

My take on the responses:
1) I am very frustrated about this being such a mystery for so long as it lowers my expectations for future filings on getting listed. We supposedly met all requirements last year and Zippo. Why should I expect anything different this year???

2) I like that they we are focusing on listing again now but temper my enthusiasm because of 1).

3) I like that a company official was able to answer this question in the affirmative via email and not only through postings here(no offense to anyone who posts here, I just enjoyed seeing another affirmative response here from a different source).

4) It sounds as though the business is building with the focus on being an independent and very successful business entity. The buyout offers(someone buying DCTC) will come as a logical part of the entity's life and is NOT the focus of management. This supports my feeling that we may NOT be bought out by year's end. That is not necessarily bad, I am sorta ashamed that for awhile, I was invested here for that reason and that IS NOT a prudent investment strategy as buyouts are very unpredictable. I can now stay focused(as I really have been for the last 6 months anyway) on the balance sheet and earnings from operations. As long as we don't get repeated writeoffs and we see REAL growth in revenue from operations, this should be a great long term investment.

Sorry for the long windedness.
