This ruling is certainly good news. Note what Bill said in his comment that, #1, GRNO equity in the plant is now up to 47% and, #2, the EPA classifies the product as synthetic fuel which qualifies the plant to get the Section 29 tax credit.
The fact that the EPA has ruled in writing that the basic setup is not a major source of air pollution and is telling the entire country, not just Region 4 or DHEC. This will make it easier to get air permits elsewhere in the States. This is also the EPA telling DHEC that they, the EPA, are getting a little tired of DHEC's stupid crap. The release says, "it would be unreasonable to conclude that any listed chemicals are intentionally included in the Company's products."
In Norm's report on his research, he said, NNN requires meeting 98% clean emission standards instead of 90%. Actual testing and modeling put the processor at an average of 99.6%. However, the lower standards will unquestionably speed up the process of approval elsewhere, since 99+% efficiency on a 90% standard is not likely to trigger tests, hearings, etc., elsewhere.
