Why would anyone what to buy an On-line service?

H&R Block was trying to get rit of Compuserve. IBM & Sears dumped
Prodigy.

I can get unlimited internet on-ramp for $10 a month. With FreeMark
and Juno I can get free e-mail. I see no future in on-line services.
With free e-mail I have a permanent e-mail address and can shop the
cheapest on ramp service. As a matter of fact there are so many
for free one month on-line services I could go from service to service
and never pay for any on-line service. I'm seriously thinking of
getting the free 50 hrs of AOL then dropping it myself. The problem
is there is no reason for me to waste my time even doing that.

With this web site I don't need forums and the internet is getting Freeer
and freer even better and better. The on-line services as far as I can see are becoming
the new buggy whip companies. I see no propriatary information that
any of them are providing that I can't get on the internet or that
I am will to pay $20 a month for.

Bottom line I don't see any company wanting to buy AOL.

Want a better investment check out TSCN(Telescan) or STNX Startronix.
