Absolutely not. Other than the extensive observational, anthropological and zoological evidence, the prima facie evidence exists right in our own DNA and the stages of the human gestation process.

What many laymen (including fundamentalist christians) misunderstand is that a theory is not a hypothesis. Evolution exists, just as we know a force called gravity exists. Although it is the "theory" of gravity, no one in their right mind would test the theory by throwing themselves out of a 50 story building. Many misconstrue the theory of evolution, however, and get away with it because the consequences of their error are not as devastating as the gravity example.
