Kok, you might be right, I spent an hour on INTC's web site to find the date of their founding, and could not, finally I got the date (1959) from a presentation by Moore where he said in 1959 when we sold our first planar transistor..., but he could have referred in that "we" to Fairchild. The points made are still the same.
