Tandems investment criteria: Management must have the vision, knowledge, and dedication required to successfully grow their businesses. Ideally, management will have substantial ownership and be motivated to increase shareholder value. Our target companies must have the potential to grow their revenue and profits in excess of 20% annually. We favor companies that provide value-added services or products and generally avoid those that operate in low-margin, commodity-like industries. We are more concerned with future growth opportunities than with past results (my bold); thus, we require companies to have well-developed and achievable business plans.
