Initially US looked very very nervous - check the long balls that overshot their targets by a long long amount - the Germans were in the first 20-25 minutes imposing their dominating will ('we are the better team') on the US lack of confidence and fear.

Also the US is not supporting well at all. They are leaving too many opportunities for Germany to capitalize on a small error in the back. The Americans are passing at the back but the midfield is not supporting. An example was the 4 Germans against 2 Americans on the cross that fortunately hit Eddie Pope.

Burns - the left defender should be substituted - too many errors and being badly beaten by the German winger often...

Coby is playing well - he should use his speed...

Is it just me or are the Germans on average much much taller than the Americans who look 'puny' by comparison...

Keller is playing very well...

US if they want to win must attack open space and somehow beat the Germans on the aerial balls, they also need to replace Burns or change his position...

The good part is the US's nervousness has abated - they CAN keep up with the Germans if they remember to pass and pass quickly and accurately and run into open space...

I really think the Germans on the right and left are vulnerable...

Just not sure what the Americans could do with a cross since they do not seem to be winning the ball in the air and the US 'players' are playing too tight (both in terms of distance among the players and nerves)...

Germany on the other hand has to figure a way to loosen the US defense during 'normal' play... (on counter attacks the US already looks very vulnerable)

(There were a couple of golden opportunities on the right side where the Americans could have passed to a runner moving into space.)

Quite frankly, unless the US loosens up and plays the way they can, they will need some big-time divine intervention to avoid being pasted...

Right now the US is playing with their feet in clay - being afraid to lose and very tight - it is costing them big-time...

very similar to the Brazilian game - too scared - scaredy cats don't win...

Reyna is also playing poorly - he had missed a couple of golden chances to move forward aggressively by holding the ball and not attacking hard...

Shane.
