Three hours and hundreds of combinations later, Muffy decided to forego the attempt to figure out the combination. She went to her kitchen, selected the sturdiest knife she had in the drawer, and proceeded to pry the lock open.

Twang! Went the latch.

Slowly, Muffy lifted the lid to the briefcase. "Hmmm", she thought. "Whoever owned this briefcase was a neat freak. Not a scrap of waste paper in it. Nice PC. One of those fancy ones with the color screen. Guess I might as well turn it on."

As luck would have it, the battery was dead. Frustrated, Muffy looked for the AC power adapter. Not there! "Oh, mannnn....", thought Muffy. "Now what?"

In the corner, Shorty continued to whimper uncontrollaby.
