I read that article last week and I don't think it is off topic. You can almost say the same would apply to Taiwan, though categories such as auto would be different. The direction the yen is heading simply cannot be considered good for AMAT.

With NEC, Samsung, Hundai all cutting chip production to prop up prices, is Taiwan a benefactor? AMAT also said, in their last qtr's report, that China business was up. I wonder if that door is going to be slammed shut before it even got opened.

Finally, Michael Murphy was on CNBC recommending AMAT. I take it as the kiss of death. AMAT is for sure heading down to the teens now.
