Hello Grobnette and all,

I'm curious what everyone's take on the impact Asia will have on SIGM. That's obviously what is driving down the prices of semiconductor stocks and SIGM. If the impact is minimal, SIGM is currently on sale. If there is a decent size fundamental impact, SIGM may not be so on sale. The impact didn't seem to affect SIGM much last quarter as revenues and profits increased, but things change...

Also, I saw a post of an article over on the CUBE thread that stated the current estimate (made on June 15) is that sales will be 6 million units of DVD-Roms this year. Does anyone have any market share guesses for our boards and chips (seperate market shares probably) so we can start developing a guess of how much of a revenue boost SIGM will get this year from DVD-Roms? I've previously been told a 10% market share for our boards. Anywhere around 10% will generate some serious revenue and profits in my opinion.

Add to the DVD-Rom revenue the sales starting soon from the Netstream 2 and we have one undervalued company on our hands, IMO, as this product seems like a wildcard with the chance to dwarf the DVD-Rom revenues. An Asia meltdown will probably slow the intro of DVD-Roms a little, but the value chain for this product is starting to really take shape with many titles and games starting to roll out. DVD-Rom is almost here to stay.
