To all my fellow Vivus investors:

I just spoke with Vivus management and here is what I got:

1)Currently Vivus is still producing 1,800,000 units monthly and is holding no inventory. ALL PRODUCT PRODUCED IS BEING SOLD!

2)Astra and Janssen representatives were paying Vivus a visit last week. They are both very upbeat and anxious to see the new plant get FDA approval so that they can fully launch in other countries without having to worry about supply shortages. The impression of many other countries on Viagra is that there is much concern about the deaths being reported and many governments will be reluctant to grant Viagra approval until the safety issues are fully understood.
Astra and Janssen do not feel that Viagra will prevent them from profiting on MUSE sales. They have invested a good deal of their money towards MUSE and are ready to effectively market the product.

3)Vivus has currently 74 reps calling on the urologists and 150 new reps calling on PCP's. The new reps started their territories in May and have still hardly scratched the surface. By contrast Pfizer has well over 1000 drug reps.

4)Vivus is indeed doing clinical research on an oral ED drug, a incontinence drug, and a premature ejaculation drug. These are still in the labatory phase and until human trials begin they have nothing significant to report except that the research is ongoing.

5)Expect some positive press releases in the near future.

6)Vivus is watching costs closely. If they feel the new sales force is helping and cost effective they will hire up to 50 more people. If they feel that the sales force is not effective they will cut down on the number of reps hired.

7)Currently Vivus feels that new scripts are not on the increase because men failing on Viagra are not stampeding back to the doctor's office to try an alternative.

8)Vivus is confident that "the crumbs" left over from Viagra will be much more than many think and that the 3rd and 4th quarters will be profitable.

9)England is the only country that MUSE is being fully marketed in.
MUSE is being marketed on a limited basis in S. Korea, S. Africa and Sweden. The other countries which have been approved will not be launched until after the new plant is approved so that product shipment will be guarenteed.

All in all things look better than perceived.

Some of you may want to communicate with Vivus the need for more frequent press releases regarding future developments.
