Chapter #3
"What's that noise in your apartment?" Jeff asked Muffy. Blushing again, Muffy admits it's her dog Shorty.
"Why's he wailing like that? asked Jeff. Muffy confesses that this is the first time he's ever been left alone.
"Why don't you get him a companion?" continues the policeman. Muffy shrugs her shoulders.
Jeff opens the back door to the cruiser and takes out a chihuahua named marcos and hands him to Muffy. "Here. Take this stray we found at Taco Bell today. They can keep each other company." says Jeff. And with that, Jeff and his partner leave, but not before Jeff "accidentally" brushes against Muffy's blouse, leaving little doubt in her mind of what deep thoughts he had for her. Blushing again, Muffy waves good-bye to Jeff and his partner. Muffy takes marcos upstairs, and in no time at all, marcos and Shorty become friends. Muffy again leaves, and this time bolts the door.
Taking the computer in hand, Muffy goes down to the local flea market, called Park 'N Swap, where she's tries to peddle the laptop to some vendors. The would be buyers are suspicious though, and none wants to get caught with stolen merchandise again.
However, Muffy finds a man named Wayne R. who's willing to buy the laptop, for a price. "I'll give you $200 and with no questions asked. But first, I'd like a little something to remember you by." he says. "Step into my trailer."
Muffy goes into the trailer, eagerly anticipating the money. However, Wayne has other ideas. He holds out the money in his left hand, and when Muffy goes to take it, he grabs her around the back and pulls her in tight, forcing a disgustingly wet kiss upon her trembling lips. Muffy can smell stale cigarette smoke on his clothes, and his breath reeks of cheap wine. "Something to remember you by." says Wayne, roughly forcing Muffy to her knees. It is now that Muffy notices that Wayne has removed his trousers and struggles with his free hand to remove his undergarment.
Just then there is a loud sound of glass breaking, and into the trailer bursts.... |
