*AV*--In my opinion, MTSN has 2 very powerful attractions for a potential suitor.

1. The Aspen III Strip system uses ICP source technology to generate a
soft plasma for low damage and residue clean capability. The fully automated system removes photoresist and polymers after processes such as high-dose implant, poly etch, and via etch strip applications. The innovative system design results in the highest productivity within the smallest footprint available in 300 mm strip tools. This far exceeds the throughput and minimum footprint requirements as set currently by I300I and SELETE for 300 mm strip equipment.
This is straight from a press release: biz.yahoo.com;

2. The RTP (Rapid Thermal Processing Tool) is a good alternative to the AMAT cluster version of this process technology.

The other two technologies: CVD and isotropic etch are not as exciting since there are some real powerful players in those fields like AMAT, LRCX, and NVLS.

The 300mm Strip Tool loses some of its luster because the 300mm programs have been pushed out. This will give time to other companies to catch up in the race but as long as MTSN is getting the demo tools or the first systems evaluated, it stands a good chance of landing the follow on orders.

BTW-One of the best assets of MTSN is actually its CEO, Brad himself. I would make him the #3 attraction for his vision and his technical prowess.

Andrew

PS-At these prices, it looks real weird that no one has actually made the attmept to take them over. This is actually one of the better small companies out there. I would also throw AGAI into the same category.
