Dear John, I accept your points. But . . . I once heard a professional athlete, when confronted with something he said that affected what some young people did, say, "I do not want to be a role model". Some people are put as role models. Some people ask to be role models by the things they say. Both must respond accordingly, whether they like it or not. I won't debate the difference between young people and ourselves as investors who do make their own decisions. But surely you can see the validity of the comparison. When someone knows they have a following . . . when someone plays to that following . . . when someone has actual skills in an area and uses them to benefit themselves and others . . . when someone sees their observations have negatively affected their following . . . I believe they owe it to that following to respond when called to do so. If you disagree, so be it. I may have reacted a little bitterly, and I apologize. But I see someone ignoring his admirers as being guilty also. I remain, SOROS
