Not denying that Germany was not going to win - just think the US performance was much poorer than I expected - more like running around confused and panic-striken during most of the game. I was hoping they would get past this fear thing - but alas not.

My guess is the coach went with experience and it just did not work - like I suggested earlier the Germans did have a fair number of weaknesses - but the US was in disarray most of the game to exploit them.

Reyna and Burns and Wynalda were very disappointing - have always thought much more of Ramos than Reyna...

And the US has to avoid the embarrasment of having multiple players simultaneously go up to head the ball... and have all of them come up empty...

At least the US played cleanly and there was good sportsmanship...

So the US would likely still have lost but I was hoping for a more consistent high quality game from them for 90 minutes... as usual and as has been their history the US is very inconsistent...

And yes the German coach is arrogant... but hey the US did not let their game do the talking... so have to just bite one's lip and say okay - next time...

Shane.
