SlotA isn't AMD's to give away. It's Compaq's call as to it being an open standard.

Have you been getting your info from Ali? This has nothing to do with Slot1 or GTL+. Think of Intel's P6 buffers as just terminated, low voltage swing open drain pins and you will be close enough.

This is correct but you forgot to add that the GTL+ bus has much better impedence matching and with the low voltage swing, it will scale to higher frequencies with ease.
