It will be interesting to see what this next announcement might be. From ELI's 1997 Annual Report, results of the chemical weapons assessment is to be "reported to U.S. Congress in December 1998 and April 1999." If this info. has to go through a Congress study, and is not presented to Congress until April 1999, it seems to me that ELI is still a long way from being granted any contracts. Also from the Annual Report, ELI has gone through about $10.0 million (cash used for operations) in each of 1996/1997 and only had $7.6 million on hand at Dec 31/97. Unless they start generating significant revenue fairly soon, it appears they will have another cash crunch coming up this year. The combination of these factors may be the cause of the recent weakness in the stock price - or maybe there are other unpleasant surprises which we don't know about yet! Regards. Joe
