El, AH-CHOO! The Asian flu just won't go away. IMHO, This is a market correction in progress. I don't look for Compaq's big ads or product announcements tomorrow to pump the stock up. Just holding the current price or a slight loss under these market conditions would be great.
We never recovered from the last bout of the Flu due to commercial product inventory complications. The BTO, and CTO shots are reducing the inventory, and providing a long term solution in the commercial channel. That takes care of the inventory complications, but nobody can develop a shot for the Asian Flu. This strain of flu is too complex and wide spread to control or kill. It will have to run it's course and die of natural causes.
IMHO, Compaq should be low on a Bear's short list, if it makes the list at all. Compaq is not a great short play for the Bears. If I was short on Compaq, I would cover quick and sell some other high flying stock short. There are plenty of bubbles left in the bubble bath (market) to "burst" at this point.
Compaq needs good financial news with good economic news for a solid move up. We should get a bounce off of this correction in progress. The solid move comes in late October or early November.
My Sunday 18 hole walk in the humidity proved that carpel tunnel has ruined my putting!
Roller Coaster alert continues for June! Hang on tight, my instinct tells me it is going to get rough. Hope my instinct is wrong. NW |
