PCPI signs deal.

Personal Computer Products Inc Tuesday announced that it has signed a development contract with a leading Japanese office equipment manufacturer to develop new multifunction peripheral product controllers.

Should the customer achieve its projections, the contract value is in excess of $18 million over the next 30 months. The specific product details will not be disclosed until introduction by the manufacturer, anticipated in the calendar third quarter 1997.

"Our OEM customer is a leading manufacturer of copiers, facsimile machines, and multifunctional office products. We are pleased to supply our platform for these multifunction products and to provide extended PCPI engineering services to expedite their product launch date," stated Dr. Edward W. Savarese, president and chief executive officer of PCPI.

"They have some excellent new products that should produce high volume sales opportunities worldwide."

"PCPI will deliver PCPI designed and developed board level products for final integration with the multifunction engine," explained Brian Bonar, executive vice president. "PCPI will be designing the embedded controller to the customer's specifications and handling all aspects
related to the scheduling and manufacturing with SCI Systems Inc.

"SCI Systems is the world's largest commercial for contract electronics manufacturer; with net
sales over $4.5 billion in 1996."
