That way you can't make money on your June puts on a 7-point dumperoo after S&P downgrades the debt, which would probably be two days after a crappy earnings report. Thus with earnings on Thursday, the downgrade would no doubt be waiting on the doorstep by Monday morning. (a la AMD last quarter: bad earnings reported April 7 after the close, S&P downgraded its debt after the close on April 9.)
