Fidelity Magellan Fund. She now recognized him as Peter Lynch, the famous fund manager. Muffy asked "What do you know of USAW, Mr. Lynch?". Looking very shaken, he replied "Nothing! Absolutely nothing!". And he rose from his seat and left Muffy wondering if it was something she said.

The flight to Iowa was uneventful. After landing and gathering her bags, Muffy went to the local hotel and checked in. Sitting alone in her room, Muffy thought how boring Iowa must be. Looking out of her window, she saw a few establishments next to her hotel, and after that, for as far as the eye could see, was nothing but cornfields. Row upon row upon row of corn. "Boring, boring!" thought Muffy.

She decided to walk around the town and see whatever there was to see in this foresaken town. She passed a general store, a church, the Grange and a Farmer's Market. Just a little bit further down the street, she saw one last building standing all by itself at the very edge of town. She decided to walk the half mile and see what it was. As she neared the building, she could hear country western music and people dancing and shouting. "Ah, some fun, finally." thinks Muffy.

She enters the building and discovers it's a typical mid-western bar, decorated country style. There's hay on the floor and the smell of beer in the air. Smoke hangs in layers throughout the place. Muffy sidles up to the bar and orders a beer. She notices the music has stopped and everyone is staring at her. It's so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Muffy gets her beer and pays the bartender.

She slowly looks around. All the men are staring at her. She casually glances at herself to make sure that nothing is showing that shouldn't be, and determines that everything is okay. She finally decides that these men have never seen someone as pretty as she in this farm town. She stares back at some of the men. The men, now startled themselves, resume their activities. The band begins playing again, and the dancing starts and the quiet soon becomes a dull roar in her ears.

Muffy notices a young man sitting by himself at the end of the bar. She studies his features. About 27, handsome and muscular. Hair cropped short and chewing on a blade of grass. She checks his fingers for a ring, but sees none. He slowly sips his beer. Muffy is intently staring at him as he glances her way and becomes aware of her staring. He shifts uncomfortably in his seat. "Shy, too!" thinks Muffy. "Perfect!"

Muffy gets off her barstool and goes over to the young man. Dressed in farm clothing, he has a rugged look about him that Muffy finds quite stimulating. She sits on the stool next to him. "Buy you a beer, big boy?" she inquires. The young man turns beet red, and stammers "OK". "I won't bite." says Muffy. The bartender brings another beer and chuckles to himself.

"You here with someone?" ask Muffy feigning innocence. "No." stammers the nervous farmhand. Muffy's eyes are now becoming accustomed to the darkness of the bar. She looks around the dance floor at the men dancing and the other men at the bar, and still more men at the tables. Suddenly she realizes she's the only lady in the place. Not another female anywhere. Her eyes go back to the dance floor, and she sees two men dancing closely, arm in arm. Sadly Muffy realizes that she has found the only gay bar in the midwest. Looking back at the young man seated next to her, she senses his embarrassment. "Are you like them?" she asks. "Oh, no!" he firmly replies. "Let's leave now!" says Muffy, and she takes the man's hand and the two of them leave quietly.

Back on the street, they walk slowly to Muffy's hotel room. Opening the door, Muffy invites him in. Shy at first, he now eagerly accepts her invitation. Remembering her recent bedroom frustrations, Muffy decides to seduce the young man. She steps into the bathroom and quickly changes into her terrycloth robe. Carefully tying the robe shut, she leaves enough of an opening at the top to entice the stranger.

She exits the bathroom, and the young man rises from the bed. His stare and gaping mouth is just what Muffy had hoped for. Not saying another word, Muffy approaches the man and slowly traces her fingers around his wide open eyes and lips. Enticingly, she places a finger in his mouth. He slowly licks her finger and then gently kisses the back of her hand up her arm and to the shoulder. He pulls Muffy close, deftly untying the robe with one hand so it falls open directly in front of him. He stares and asks a question with his eyes. Muffy nods affirmatively.

He removes his clothes down to his undergarments without ever taking his eyes from Muffy's luscious body. His passions clearly inflamed now, he takes Muffy in his arms and begins to tell her a story.

"Things like this never happen to me. Folks around here are kind to me, but that's just because they feel sorry for me." Muffy squirms impatiently, sensing that the story may be longer than she wants to hear at this particular moment. He continues "When I was a little child, my parents were killed in an automobile accident...". "Mine, too!" interrupts Muffy. "And I lost my dog and my sister when we went to different orphanages..." he droned on. Muffy felt the passion of the moment slipping by. "And my life has been a living hell ever since." he finished. He now lay aside Muffy who was deep in thought. "And when did this happen?" she asked. "6/19/74" he replied. "My brother?" she thought. "I have a brother?" The mood completely destroyed now, she pulled her robe back on and asked the man his name. He replied "...
