<< Japan plans to adopt accounting rules in line with international standards in valuing securities and derivatives products held by corporations and financial firms, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said on Tuesday.

The ministry said it would aim to introduce ''mark-to-market'' accounting rules in the fiscal year starting April 1, 2000, following a recommendation to do so by the Business Accounting Council (BAC), an advisory panel. >>
