Hi SRO,
My favorite book on the subject of speculative bubbles is David Dreman's
"Psychology and the Stock Market" (1977)
execpc.com - book review

I, too, have been in amazement at the price support of Lucent and other stocks. It's like the late '60s when there were just a handfull of stocks that every mutual fund and institution had to own. It didn't matter if the price was absurd relative to most valuation measures. If you think the P/E is bad at Lucent, check out the Price/Book Value!

Right now I'm willing to bet a Big Mac that IDTI will double its sales and book value before Lucent will. Any takers? Will price follow that growth? Most likely.

Best regards, Tom
