When using a multimonitor setup are all open windows automatically updated with new data or is only the window with focus automatically updated? Example: Say you are running CypberTrader in one window and a IRC chat channel in another window and both are concurrently receiving data from the Internet. Can you see the data in both windows being continuously updated or do you see only the data in the window with focus being updated?

In my mind the answer to this question makes a big difference in whether one needs a multimonitor display station and how many monitors one needs. If only the window with focus will be continuously updated with new data then it eliminates the need for a multimonitor display in many cases. Say one has several windows open at one time on one monitor and they all overly each other. Then one can click on an icon on the taskbar to bring any open window into focus and update the data displayed in the window. There is not much different between clicking on an icon on the task bar and on an window to bring a window into focus. This also implies a multi-computer trade station has a performance advantage over a single computer trade station. However, if all open windows are concurrently being updated with new dated then yes a multimonitor setup provides a significant performance advantage over a single monitor trade station.
