The following quote is from an InfoWorld article entitled "Intel plans limited upgrade path for PC users wanting MMX-enabled Pentiums" available at infoworld.com :

"In 1998, Intel also plans to provide MMX OverDrive processors that fit into the same Socket 8 that now is used for Pentium Pro chips, sources said. The Pentium Pro-class upgrade chips are internally called P6T, sources said, and are expected to run at clock-speeds of 300 and 333 MHz."
