Poor BROD...

I bought a lot of BROD with avg. price of 17. I bought it as a value play/turnaround play, not as a buyout play. I did get excited over the weekend counting my imaginary big profits in BROD, only to get the green weenie on Monday. Oh well.

BROD joins a long list of companies whose pristine balance sheets and tons of cash are glorified, yet they can't seem to make money. NOVL and AAPL and WEN are recent examples that ocme to mind. I guess the lesson is: Can the management USE that money to advance the company. Can they LEVERAGE their pristine balance sheets.

Haines put it best in a private conversation: BROD has a lot of creative geniuses while THQI doesn't. But BROD doesn't know how to make money while THQI does. Riven may have the most gorgeous imagery ever put into a game and THQI may have the cheesiest, but there is no question that THQI is the superior company. I was hoping for a quick buyout of BROD in the mid 20's so I could put more money into THQI. Now I am just hoping for a brief BROD rally to walk away with some profit.
