Doesn't anyone performance count anymore? How about the product/strategy wins? Isn't improved productivity the major drawing point of computers? That's why I got mine. Where do you think all of these fundmanental numbers pop up from? I am actually quite bad at math. I know, I know, cross platform this, interoperabitliy that. Just suppose a company offered a system that can integrate all of your systems and offer more aggregate functionality than your cross platform, allegedely "open" standards system. That is what we have hear folks. MSFT's client products are curretnly the most funtional, and I think everybody hear pretty much sees that, but since it is proprietary it is bad. If Nippon computers took over the industry with a superior proprietary system, you would be at a disadvantage as a consumer if your competitors bought it and you didn't. Don't expect non-techies to forego the superior technology simply because they don't want to see the Net subjugated. Do you know what corprate America wants to see subjugated? Thier competitors. IF MSFT is not their direct competitors, they can care less the form of the tool, they just want it to work. Take it from a non-techie.
