Steve,

I dunno exactly what the price was "asked" at the open. I do know that my order was executed 3 MINUTES after the market opened. This is what really irks me. Also, the price closed yesterday at 19 3/8 (about; but I knowthat it was lower than the 19 13/16 it opened at) meaning, odds are that the opening stock traded was a buy at the ask.

I wonder how you get to the front of the line as Greg puts it. I know that my on-line brokerage house (Datek) didn't charge me a $10 commission on this one, becuase the stock is supposed to be purchased within ine minute.

I understand the risks of placing a market order, however, for me the risk was the fact that I did not get it at 19 3/8 but rather at 19 13/16 (still on 1,000 shares, a $400 or so difference. However, to receive the stock at 20 3/8, 3 minutes after the market opened, well, I still thinmk there is something wrong here. It SHOULD not take 3 minuites to execute a market order.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Thankls everybody for your replies and help.

Richard
