New Patent Issued to Energy Related Devices

Energy Related Devices was granted a new patent June 2, 1998, for its "Surface Replica
Fuel Cell for Micro Fuel Cell Electrical Power Pack". The issue of this latest patent further
expands ERD's intellectual property base for micro fuel cells. The title of this patent is held
by Manhattan Scientifics, Inc. Over the past several months, we have received numerous
requests for the technical information described in the abstract and claims of this new
patent. Now that the patent has been issued these technical details will accessible in
electronic format as soon as the IBM Patent Database Website updates its database to
include this patent. Copies of the patent can be ordered through the U.S.Patent Data base
U.S. PTO website.

Manhattan Scientifics, Inc. Units Move to Expanded Laboratory
Facilities

The research and development teams of Manhattan Scientifics, Inc. are moving into
expanded office space in the new Los Alamos industrial park, East Gate on June 3, 1998 .
The expanded laboratory space will be used by both units of Manhattan Scientifics, Energy
Related Devices (ERD) and Tamarack Storage Inc. (TSI). Expanded laboratory space will
expedite research and testing of the ERD's micro fuel cell and TSI's holographic storage
media.


Energy Related Devices Adds Electrochemist to Staff

Electrochemist Marc DeJohn has joined the Energy Related Devices R&D crew. Formerly
of Iowa State University, he will be responsible for data interpretation and establishing
electochemical test protocol.
