Either the telco's or someone else will develop broadband access because no one wants to be left behind in this internet hysteria. As we know, Microsoft has made the internet its main focus, Intel is very interested in broadband , and I recently read that Apple has even considered writing its entire operating system in JAVA (Mac users are a large percentage of on-line people). I have heard the growth in internet users likened to the television growth in its infancy. I think the theory is 'build it (broadband access) and they will come', with their wallets open. The next move after 56.6 modems will be a watershed for bandwith and there will be a huge rush to develop this market. I don't think the average investor realizes how close videoconferencing is to reality. I think this will be one of the largest uses for this bandwidth, and one that people will pay for. With implimentation just beginning, I think the average investor will wake up and see the writing on the wall in the next 6 months. "Are we way ahead of ourselves?" --who knows, but AMTX has not participated yet in this last month's rally, yet its prospects only continue to improve. I think relative to august, the price is low because the speculation has been verified in instance after instance.
Today looked good for traders. Despite a very choppy Dow, there were fewer large block sales than last week, during a rally. It looks like Pat was right that the seller last week was about done selling his portfolio.
