David, You stated your question about going long against the box margin requirments was silly. There is no such thing as a silly question. I had the smae question and since I got a different answer from BHC Securities, DLJ and Fidelity, I called the SEC to see what was the rule. Now I know but the question was not silly. Also brokerage firms can require more equity but not less than that mandated by the SEC. Glenn
