Stockman - You writing implies that you lost a lot of money on BAY. Sorry to hear that. I am continually amazed at the lack of insight and understanding of this market by the majority of Stocktalk participants. This has been my main reason for not following this thread closely lately. (There are a few gems here and there which is what keeps it alive and I dont mean to disparage the ones that make significant contributions.)

BAY is a *very* strong company in a very strong market. NT obviously recognizes that as well as the strong leadership that BAY has. Forget the $38 / share price; that is a meaningless number. The key numbers to remember are 21% ownership and .6 fo each share of Bay. I believe the ratio was derived from the ratio of BAY's 52 week high and NT's 52 week high.

If we can execute this merger well (unlike previous attempts) we can succeed in a huge way. We have completely different leadership in Bay from the SNPX/WFLT days so there is no comparison. Also, this is not a merger of equals by any stretch. We got purchased and we will be absorbed into the NT culture.

I would have loved a higher price obviously! But so what? NT has been around for a hundred years ... and it will be around for a lot more years.

I am extremely excited by the prospects of this merger. I only hope we learned a lesson from the last merger. I for one will be working hard to avoid the petty NIH battles that plagued us the last time. House has instilled a completely new culture of process for BAY; one that gives us strong tools for making this merger work.

I respect House immensly. The proof will be in the execution going forward. House's execution to date, as viewed internally, has been astounding.

I suggest you exit out of this stock and put NT on your watchlist. Let's chat again in a year and see the progress.

PS : 166 NT = 100 BAY Stock
