Yes FT, I agree as well that all religions were used as control mechanisms. Man used it to acquire the ultimate power--taking individual minds prisoner. Your remarks about animal cognitive abilities are interesting. However, why would humans be so much more advanced(in most cases:o) than the animals. You mentioned being thankful for the asteroid that killed the dinosaurs. Believe I read somewhere that human DNA developed from the materials in that asteroid. Has it been proven that 4-legged animal life developed before the first humanlike creature stepped out of the ocean??.....or if humans evolved first and then the animals, can we expect talking pigs, monkey mathematicians & canine computer nerds sometime in the future? As I've stated many times here, any creator capable of zapping this universe into existence wouldn't waste her time with ancient books or keeping tabs on minor infractions by humans.
