Will, Kurlak actually was a factor in today's recovery in the chips.

Cramer had the following in a piece on TSC:

In the interim, Tom Kurlak, the big -- and right -- bear of chips at Merrill, indicated that we are probably coming into the period when you have to think about buying these. Just one positive whiff from the man and, boom, that was all she wrote for the short side.

Cramer had the "right" in italics. Hmmm...I guess he wants readers to know that he thinks Tom "the best there is" Kurlak is "right".

I'll save my sarcasm for later, but as for the potential of a Kurlak turn...

It would jibe with his belief that the $SOX pulls back 50% from it's peak during industry downturns.

But I'd be surprised to see issues with heavy PC-related product portfolios in the initial batch of any upgrades, or the "next wave" after LSI. IMHO, he'll most likely stick to his own ennunciation that communications-related IC's will be the growth drivers for the sector.

But, with him you never know.

Good trading,

Tom
