I to was involved with the Centenial fiasco. Moneyline had it on the night before saying they were selling more then ever and don't worry. I called my broker in the morning and said I had to have 1000 shares of that great company. He tried to talk me out of it but I prevailed. When it had gone from like 4 to 8 by ten a.m. I called him back drooling like a rabid dog to buy more. Again he tried but my supreme intelligence prevailed and I owned another 1000. Sometime after lunch Chuck called to say,"Jeff you have got to get the hell out of this thing because it just doesn't smell right." But 13.5 wasn't good enough and I had to wait for more. Seems that the busier then ever statement was made by the temp gal who was answering the phones and once that was discovered they stopped trading on the stock. Opened the next day or two at 2.5, sold and considered beating myself half to death:)

My very painfull lesson (Almost 75% of my risk capital at that point) was 1. Don't be so damn greedy! 2. I am not the genius that I thought I was and should not be afraid to listen to others opinions. 3. Don't bet the whole farm on one position while you are drifting around through your day not at your computer or ready to instantly sell.
