Ken:

I don't scan for stocks within IRL groups, though others might. I scan the whole database for all sorts of things, usually beginning with stocks above a certain price and with high average volume to narrow things down a bit. You can scan for breakouts, stocks reaching new highs, stocks breaking through resistance, MACD crossovers, percentage gainers, Canslim stocks, stocks with good fundies -- whatever. It's up to you. It doesn't depend on the profiles you've created, since you can output new lists or create new Virtual directories of stocks based on what the scans find. You might want to create a new general profile in QP Virtual, with no stocks in it at first, where you can send scan lists -- or you can output the lists to Metastock directories.
