This is a re hash of old news or else a renewal of an old contract. MUEI has been the sole provider of desktops and notebooks for the last few years. The profits must be good, equivalent of $5000 hammers, cause the AF bought my area some new Microns (boat anchors) that take 10 minutes to boot up and paid over $3500. They were 133s with 32 RAM but slower than dirt and only 15" monitor. After seeing and using them, I bought 3 times the machine (200 MMX with 64 RAM, 17" monitor and numerous extras) from competitor for only $2300. Of course we have no choice so I just put in for some more new boat anchors last week. Hopefully these will act a little better. ( Of course their better than the Zeniths we had to buy before Micron got the contract) Their notebooks do OK indoors but they hate the sand too. (Just came back from enforcing the no fly zone) Maybe I'm being too hard on MUEI though, they do stand by their warranties so that is probably why we stick with them.
