TB, let me jump in with a very simple example of how ludicrous biblical "science" can be. In Genesis 1:14-19 we learn that God creates the stars on the day after he creates earth. Now, the nearest star is about 4.5 light years from earth. After about 20 years only around 20 stars would be visible from the earth. How is it possible that the stars were visible to Adam and Eve? Here's a better question: nobody was around to witness these events, so where is the source of the information? If it came from a god, he certainly had problems either getting his facts straight or communicating with people.

In other places we learn of strange diagnostic procedures for skin blemishes, treatment for mildew, the flat earth etc., etc. Clearly, the Bible was written in an era when people knew a lot less than they know now. Why then would one suppose their morality (and there are many -- take your pick) would be any better than their science?
