Excellent points. I would also mention that god supposedly cannot violate nature -- which curiously means he would be limited by the speed of light. Of course he could always transpose himself from whatever he is, become luxonic and then shift to tachyon which can never drop down to the speed of light. But the bible mentions nothing of this.

Some of the morality in the bible is rational, much is not.

I often wonder what type of god not only condoned slavery, but gave lengthy rules on how slaves could be beaten, and even the consequences (or lack thereof) of killing a slave. What a cheery, just god he must be. One who can also change his mind at the drop of a spiritual hat.
