>>You know, I really don't have the heart or disposition to be argumentative at this level. I tried my best to contribute some technical perspective here, but no one seems particularly interested, except at the "No, you're wrong, Microsoft is right" level. I don't think it's particularly edifying to argue at that level. I've got to go back to lurking for a while. I may post a URL from time to time, but no more essays or snippy repartee.
Dan, Don't give up posting. You're the best new blood to have come along this fall! All of us have Middleton's numbers: Ninety-five and ninety-seven. Reg likes to argue. If he doesn't have a case, he reposits his argument and tells you you didn't understand it. Reg is endless. I have yet to read a post of his where Microsoft is anything but excellent, and any Microsoft competitor hopelessly disadvantaged. Reg is, basically, a one trick pony. Reg is, in short, a Microtoady.
I have a challenge for Reg. From December 1-7, and 15-30, I offer to argue Microsoft's position, if Reg will argue the opposite. Then we'll find out how much Reg and I really know. How 'bout it, Reg? We'll start a thread right next door. Others are welcome by me if Reg says it's ok. |
