I'm not a scientist by any stretch of the imagination ...

That's obvious. Try to explain away carbon dating. Try to explain away the fossil record. Try to explain away continental drift. Try to explain away the fact that evolution has been repeatedly observed in nature and in the laboratory. Try to explain away the consistent homologous relationships in DNA, protein structure and anatomy that exist throughout nature.

Try to explain away how salt water organisms survived Noah's flood. Try to explain how there was sufficient room on the ark to accommodate whales (which couldn't survive in all of that fresh water because the plankton was killed). Try to explain away how Jesus needed to go to the top of the mountain to see all of the people on earth (implying the earth was flat).

I could go on and on with this nonsense. This is the stuff of primitive culture, not divine revelation.

Best of all, though, try to explain why God all of these manifestations which fly in the face of reason. If the fossil record is wrong, if continental drift is wrong, if the theory of evolution is wrong, if the theory of gravity is wrong, if cosmology is wrong, why plant all of that convincing and consistent evidence?

Could it be that maybe, just maybe, you are wrong?
