Yuan Devaluation Reports Misinterpreted by Hong Kong Newspaper

HONG KONG -- (Reuters) The Hong Kong Standard newspaper on Wednesday issued a clarification and apology for a report on Monday in which it referred to comments attributed to Chinese Vice Prime Minister Li Lanqing.

in addition to the above it was just reported on CNBC (by a Wall Street Journal reporter) that China was raising interest rates on its own currency while lowering the rate paid on deposits of U.S. dollars in China. This is seen as a way to support China's currency and stimulate its economy
