Hi Wendy. The reason for the hi EPS is due to one time asset sales. ie. Norcen. Noranda is probably going to lose money in 98, or just break even. The high dividend yield will help support the stock. Falconbridge has dropped to $15 and change, Inco is back around $20. Not a good time for metal stocks at all. NOR is in great shape financially and the depressed Falconbridge/Inco prices may actually be a bonus for them as they are steadily buying up Falconbridge. Who knows? Maybe Inco will have to JV Voisey's Bay with them. They also picked up a portion of Inmet's big copper project in SA as Inmet ran out of money to finance. Only the strong will survive.
