>>Deskpro's are much better but more $$$ <<

I have three Deskpro 6000's. There are some similarities that make me wonder. They came with an NT OS but I needed Win95. Actually none of the three worked up front with the NT compressed software OS that was installed by Compaq. It would not decompress. They blamed third party cards added by the reseller and the reseller said it was a bad software load. I removed the third party cards and it would still not decompress.

I reformatted and lost the non DOS partition that they hide at the beginning of the drive. I installed Win95 as I need it for my applications (Compaq would not sell me the machine with Win95, they indicated that their license agreement with Microsoft would not allow it) I purchased the support CD with required drivers for a Win95 machine.

Similar situation after I loaded Win95. A very long list of marks in the device manager. I tried to view the support CD but it is browser based and I did not have a browser at work that would work with their support CD. I had to call tech support. They were very helpfull but calling tech support for assistance reading and finding drivers on a support CD is strange.

A lot better than POS maybe, but 0 x 10 still equals 0.
