Progress Report #12

Friday, November 22, 1996

Introduction
This progress report covers the project activity for the week ending
Friday, November 22, 1996.

Drilling Contract
Layne Christensen mobilized their equipment to the site on Tuesday
November 19 and began the set up on the first drill hole on Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the soft ground conditions the set up was slow. The first hole to be drilled is DH 96-1, a vertical hole located in the far southwest corner of the property. Drilling commenced on Friday.

Excavation / Transport
Set up activities for Trench #2 took place on Monday November 18. This trench was relocated from its original location in the southwest
wooded area of the site in order to achieve a broader representation
of the geologic units and to avoid environmental sensitive
disturbances whenever possible. The revised location was adjacent to the main Park access trail in the south central portion of the visitor
search area.

The Trench #2 excavation was completed on Wednesday morning in spite of two days of inclement weather. The compound was disassembled and backfilling completed by Thursday. The weather conditions and hauling activities had rutted the access roads so the Contractor mobilized additional equipment to repair the roads. The Contractor also ripped and plowed Trench sites #14 and #2 to the extent that the prevailing weather conditions would permit.

Trench #9 was laid out, scalped and the compound fencing erected by Friday November 22. No excavation will commence until all the access road repairs are completed.

Plant Operation
Ore Preparation Plant and DMS Plant continued the processing of the
second set of the Trench #14 material. The green material from Trench 14 (referred to as 14A) was processed the prior week and the
processing of the brown material (14B) was completed on November 17.

Diamond Recovery
Representatives from Lakefield arrived on site on November 19 to
conduct the diamond recovery on the accumulated heavy media
concentrates.

The weight of the concentrate processed and the processing date is
indicated on the following Table:

Trench # Date Weight

14A 11/19/96 85
14B 11/20/96 90
13 11/21/96 320
8 11/22/96 270
2 11/23/96 1,360

For each separate set of DMS concentrate the following products were
collected from the diamond recovery operation:

* X-Ray Sortex Concentrate
* Grease Table (lmm - 2mm)
* Sortex Grease Table
* Grease Table - Attrition
* +12mm to -l6mm Fraction

All of the concentrates were placed in separate containers and
transferred to the locked cage in the Sort Room for future sorting.
